Last year’s Growler Gala was a fun and successful event for us! We had a great turnout for the event that featured Turtle Swamp beer and a lively bidding war in our auction. Our growlers, decorated by local artists and celebrities, proved to be a big hit with our attendees. Many thanks to those who came, as well as to all of our contributors and sponsors.
We hope to repeat that success this year on Thursday, October 25, 6:30-9:30pm, at Loring Greenough House, 12 South Street. We will again have decorated growlers up for bid, as well as fun items in our silent auction, such as a dessert class by a local pastry chef, a personalized history tour of JP, a City Feed gift basket, a night out in JP, and vintage framed photos of Jamaica Plain. Beer will be from our popular local brewery, Turtle Swamp Brewing, and we’re adding cocktails made from Bully Boy Distillers liquors. Free food, fun music, and hopefully some exciting bidding promise to round out the evening.
Early Bird Tickets are available until Tuesday, Oct 23. Get your tickets now and save $15/person. Each admission comes with two free beers. Additional drink tickets will be available for sale. All proceeds benefit JP Centre/South Main Streets programs. Our organization seeks to bring together residents, businesses, and the City of Boston to build the kind of business district where we love to live and work. JP Centre/South Main Streets hosts First Thursdays, Screen on the Green, a mentoring/networking program and technical assistance for small businesses and entrepreneurs, the Holiday Stroll, and more. We work to maintain the integrity of our neighborhood in the face of increasing development, rising prices, streetscape changes, and more.
Who knew a couple of beers could do so much good? #growlergala
