20th Annual Canine Costume Parade SUCCESS!

It was a perfect day for the 20th Annual Canine Costume parade, and as usual, a sterling sample of Jamaica Plain’s creativity and dog lovers.

Many thanks to those who made the event possible: Our SPONSORS – TCB The Cooperative Bank and Polkadog Bakery; our judges – Jonathan Levine (JP Animal Clinic), Juniper (Asst Mgr at JP’s Polkadog Bakery location), Rep. Sam Montaño (15th Suffolk), and Jackie Cain (editor of TimeOut Boston); JP Honk, who led our parade down Centre Street; Mark Wylie from the Instagram account @jamaicaplaindogs; a whole host of volunteers who helped guide the pooches to the red carpet; and of course, EVERYONE who came to watch!

Winners were (all photos by Mark Wylie @jamaicaplaindogs)

1st Place – Winnie, with owners Jessica, Eric, and Tim, dressed as Mad Max Furiosa;

2nd Place – Nellie, with owners Jon and Juli, dressed as PB & J with “puppernickel” Wonder Bread;

3rd Place – Koda, with owner Michelle, dressed as Strawberry (not pictured).
