2025 JP Holiday Light Show

JP Centre/South Main Streets presented their annual large-scale laser projection show for the holidays, along with the first-time ever South Street Illumination. This year the light show debuted on Thursday, December 4 with a party, which includes a procession to the South Street Mall to see the illumination! Both the JP Holiday Light Show and the South Street Illumination played every night from December 4 to January 3, 2026.

The light show projected several stories high onto the steeple of First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain. The show, entitled “Twas the Night Before Solstice,” was approximately 8 minutes long and featured audio in English and Spanish. Between shows, the projection featured drawings by kids in the Jamaica Plain community. This year, the show was created by Kate Raisz, of 42 Degrees North Media and one of our distinguished board members!

At our Debut Party on Thursday, December 4, folks watched the premier of the projection show, while hot cocoa was served by the E-13 Boston Police Department. Afterward, JP Honk led the party to the South Street Mall for the Illumination at 5:30 PM.

We are especially grateful to our contributors, including Blue Frog Bakery, City Feed and Supply, Rachael Kulik at Insight Realty Group, TCB – The Cooperative Bank, 42 Degrees North Media, bb.q chicken, Brilliant Places at Gibson Sotheby’s International Realty, Ellen and Janis Real Estate Team, Jamaica Plain Rentals and Sales & Property Management, Station8salon, Rockland Trust, Morrison’s Auto Rite Inc., First Baptist Church, On Centre, KidsArts, Boing! The show was approximately 8 minutes long and played nightly on the hour and half hour between 5:00 and 8:45 PM, from December 7 to Saturday, January 4, 2025. Viewers scanned a QR code prior to the show and, as the show played on the steeple, they could listen to accompanying music and dialogue on their mobile device. This year the show was bilingual in Spanish and English! The show was created by artist Diego Delmar and celebrated the spirits of winter and giving across our many cultures.

2023 JP Holiday Light Show

The 2023 JP Holiday Light Show debuted on Saturday, December 2, 2023, and played nightly from December 2 until Saturday, January 6, between 5:00 pm and 8:45pm. The eight-minute show featured a countdown between shows and played approximately every half hour.

The Jamaica Plain Holiday Light Show was the only annual large-scale laser light show in Boston during the holiday season. It projected several stories high onto the steeple of First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain. It has become a holiday tradition in JP and for the first time ever, it included music as part of the viewing experience. Viewers scanned a QR code prior to the show and could listen to accompanying music on their own mobile device.

The show was created by artist Diego Delmar and featured the elusive white squirrel of Jamaica Plain. It celebrated the spirit of giving across many cultures and highlights of the Winter season.
