Night at the Drive-In

The days might seem repetitive, maybe even endless, but thanks to JP Movie Night, we got to go to the drive-in! This past Saturday, July 18, JP Movie Night hosted a drive-in movie in the parking lot of St. Theresa of Avila in West Roxbury. The showing was Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray – some may say apropos in light of our days in quarantine and shutdown during a global pandemic.

Shot of Drive-in Movie and cars
The movie was projected onto the rear wall of St. Theresa of Avila’s school building.
Jason Gregoricus, JP Movie Night co-founder, and his lovely family directed cars to their viewing spots. To ensure participant safety, we wore masks and transistors radios were previously sanitized.

JP Movie Night used JP Centre/South Main Streets high-powered laser projector, which was purchased through a crowd-funding campaign in December 2019. They are also donating their proceeds to the JP Main Streets Relief Fund to help those affected by the pandemic.

The event was such a success there is talk of repeating it! But not in that endless, repetitive way. Sign up for our newsletter to hear about future drive-in movie events!
