It was a close call but Michael Reiskind won our JP Trivia Battle! Several teams convened at First Baptist Church on Thursday, October 19, to test their knowledge against Michael’s seemingly endless well of JP-based information. Food was generously donated by Blue Frog Bakery, Purple Cactus and The Real Deal, and drinks were donated by Happy Market and Blanchards. Many thanks also to our Main Sponsor: TCB – The Cooperative Bank!
Congratulations to 1st Place winners: The Muncey Group, who came just one point shy of Michael Reiskind’s score. 2nd place goes to Franklin (made up of venerable JP veterans); 3rd place to “I Scream for Ice Cream” (J.P. Licks employees!) Alas, no winners of the $500 grand prize for beating Michael Reiskind.

Some of the toughest questions included:
- The Franklin Park Zoo bear cages have been in the news lately. What mayor of Boston, 1906-1914, was responsible for creating the zoo where the bear cages are?
- The lawn in front of Curtis Hall was dedicated to someone in 1997. Who was recognized for their “years of service to Jamaica Plain and the City of Boston?” and …
- What popular band’s music video, released in 2021, starred Hilkin Mancini, owner of 40 South, doing her signature punk rock aerobics?
Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to all who supported our event, including First Baptist Church and all of our fantastic volunteers, as well as our Board President, Michael Reiskind.
