Jazz in Jamaica Plain Concert Series Wraps Up
We finished our Jazz in Jamaica Plain concert series with our final concert on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the South Street Tennis Courts and Mall. Many thanks to New England Jazz Connections for coordinating the musicians, and for using each concert as an opportunity to raise funds for the JP Roxbury Mutual Aid. We would also like to thank the Boston Main Streets Foundation for their generous grant to fund the musicians.
JPCSMS Seeks Artists for Winter Light Show
JP Centre/South Main Streets has issued a Request for Proposals for their 3rd Annual Winter Light Show. The organization seeks artists who will use JPCSMS’ crowdfunded projector to create an artistic and dynamic light show with projection mapping that will project onto a local building within the district. Special preference will be given to artists from Jamaica Plain. Details are available for download.
JP Book Tour was a MUST-SEE!
Thank you to all those who participated in our Jamaica Plain Book Tour That You Must Not Miss on Saturday, June 26. We had a great crowd start at one of Jamaica Plain’s quirkiest spots, the U-shaped Bench at Jamaica Pond, by artist Matt Hincman. The tour contined to Centre and South Streets, visiting some of our favorite shops along the way, before finishing with a book signing at Papercuts JP at 60 South Street.
Spectacular Set at South Street Spring Fair
It was a great day at the South Street corridor as bands played atop the Papercuts JP bookstore, and games abounded within the South Street Tennis Courts. Many thanks to sponsors Ferris Wheels Bike Shop and Sazama Real Estate for this spectacular event! Businesses up and down the block came out in full force.
Holiday Happenings in JP Centre/South
Michael Reiskind remains King of JP Trivia!
Can you beat the King of JP Trivia?
Voila! Viola Concert
The weather on Sunday, October 18, 2020, turned out to be just perfect for our mini-concert at our Green Street Parklet. We were so thankful to Daniel Kim of the Boston Symphony Orchestra volunteer his talents and wonderful instrument. These days, the little joys like live music are few and far between, so it was much appreciated.
