On Wednesday, August 28, we hosted a workshop with the New England ADA Center, “At Your Service: Welcoming Customers with Disabilities.” Presenter Stacey Hart from the Institute for Human Centered Design gave insight and instruction to the audience of business owners, employees, and interested attendees.
A big THANK YOU to Ellen + Janis Real Estate for sponsoring our Screen on the Green on Aug 1 at the Curley School. We were so excited to see the goodies they brought to the festivities! We’re also very excited to have them on board as sponsors for our CANINE COSTUME PARADE! Look for them and us in October!
Congratulations to our Business of the Year, Little Dipper, and our Volunteer of the Year, Melvin Tutiven! JP Centre/South is very grateful for your contributions to our district. As Mayor Walsh said in his comments, our communities can’t run without the involvement of our businesses and volunteers!
Check out our latest newsletter here for Screen on the Green, JP Porchfest, and upcoming events in the district.
Many, many thanks to everyone who contributed to our BBQ en Rouge Fundraiser! The barbecue was smokin’ and the cake auction was lively. We also conducted our Annual Meeting and Board Elections.
This year, JP Centre/South Main Streets presents the JP Festival Trolley, a free trolley that will span the district and Jamaica Plain. This feature is made possible by a grant from the Boston Main Streets Foundation.
In May, our First Thursday Scavenger Hunt will feature six food businesses in the district. Each location will then offer you a free treat or sample to reward you for finding the location and answering the trivia questions! The fun starts Thursday, May 2, at 5pm. Be sure to get on the hunt right away, as some locations might run out of the tasty treats!
