First Open Streets in Jamaica Plain
The streets were packed with lively activity for Open Streets on Sunday, July 10. JP Centre/South Main Streets used the time to celebrate the 100 Year Anniversary of George’s Shoes at 669 Centre St. Our city councilors and Mayor were on hand to share in the celebration! There was also plenty of mention on the news!
Call for Investigation of Outdoor Dining Application Process
JP Centre/South Main Streets urges the City of Boston to review their application process for outdoor seating for restaurants and examine how the process perpetuates racial disparities and inequities for small business owners. This includes both the current temporary 2022 Temporary Outdoor Dining Program and the permanent application process.

On Saturday, March 23, 2019, the Blue Frog Bakery celebrated their 15th Anniversary with a big party, cake, and mimosas! Mayor Marty Walsh was on hand to cut the cake. The Mayor, City Councillor Matt O’Malley, State Representative Liz Malia, and State Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz shared some words about the longevity of this business.
